Enabling two-factor authentication on the Axur platform provides you and your team with a much higher level of security, reducing the possibility of unauthorized access to your account. This is because knowing only the password for your login is not sufficient to access it.
This configuration is widely used in social networks, emails, and for accessing bank accounts, and is now also available on the Axur platform! Two-factor authentication allows for verifying the identity of those accessing the Axur platform and managing which devices are used by each user. This contributes to greater security for user information and, especially, for the data of the company using the platform.
As of December 2023, two-factor authentication has become mandatory for all Axur platform users, automatically activated. However, if reconfiguration is necessary, we provide a tutorial below on how to perform this setup.
Now, let's proceed to the tutorial on enabling this feature!
Install a password generator
Before starting the configuration directly in Axur One, install an application, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on the phone that will receive the alerts, which will be responsible for generating the authentication codes at login time.
Apps on Google Play:
Apps on Apple Store:
Remember that you can only download one application, so you should choose your preferred one to perform the actions.
How to set up Two-Factor Authentication on Axur One?
After installing the application on your device, to start the configuration, access the My Preferences menu locate the Two-Factor Authentication menu at the bottom of the page, and click on Turn On as shown in the image below:
The verification is done through mobile devices, by scanning a QR Code that ensures only the user's device can access their respective account on Axur One.
To begin, enter your Axur One login password and click on Continue:
After confirming your password, Axur One will request the download of the password generator that was already installed at the beginning of the tutorial:
Click on Continue and open the application on your cell phone, then scan the QR code shown on the Axur One screen using the downloaded app camera:
If the selected app does not support scanning the QR code, select the “Set up manually” option below the QR code. This will display a code for you to manually input into your preferred app.
Attention! Make sure that the time on the device you are using to access the platform is synchronized with the time on the device where the Authenticator is installed. Otherwise, the code will not work.
On your device, a six-digit code will be generated, which you must enter on the Axur One screen and click Authenticate when available, as shown in the image below:
Done! Authentication completed. For your control and identification, please inform the name of the registered device. For example, my personal phone, my work phone, my tablet, etc. Once done, click on Done and you're all set!
After this configuration is done, every time your Axur One account is accessed from a different device, it will be necessary to generate a new security code. Pretty easy, right?
We know that large credential leaks are frequently published on the internet and, as many users use the same password on different platforms, it is necessary to have a way to protect your company. This is because anyone who has access to a list of logins, even from a random site, could try to access various sites with it.
That's why we have two-step authentication, so even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without having your registered phone or device. Only you have full access! :)
How to manage authenticated applications?
Did you forget which device you used to authenticate two-factor for your accounts? You can check them in the My Preferences menu, locate the authentication menu, and click on Manage Access:
Here, you can check which points have access to the passwords that will be generated when accessing Axur One from an unknown device:
How to disable two-factor authentication?
There are several reasons why you may want to reset authentication: such as loss, replacement, or theft of the registered device, using your phone more than your work phone, or only wanting to activate it on your tablet, among others.
Firstly, it is necessary to remove all settings made for logging into the Axur platform from the Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator app. The generated codes there are no longer valid and will not work on the Axur platform; we need to re-register.
Step-by-step on how to remove on Android:
Open the chosen app.
Look for the AxurOne item: [your email].
Select and hold the item until a pencil and a trash can appear in the upper right corner.
Click on the trash can and then click on Remove Account.
If there is more than one item similar to what I mentioned in Step 2, repeat the process until it is zeroed.
Step-by-step on how to remove on iPhone/iOS:
Open the chosen app.
Look for the AxurOne item: [your email].
Select and hold the item until a pencil appears.
Click on the pencil.
Click on the trash can in the upper right corner and then click on Remove Account.
If there is more than one item similar to what I mentioned in Step 2, repeat the process until it is zeroed.
After completing these steps, if you are not a Manager user on the Axur platform, please contact the Manager user on your team and request a Two-Factor Authentication reset through the My Team menu.
Attention! Deactivation is only temporary!
Since December 2023, two-factor authentication has become mandatory for ALL users of the Axur platform. It is not possible to permanently disable authentication.
Lost your phone and can't access the authenticator?
Please contact the Manager user on your team and request a Two-Factor Authentication reset through the My Team menu. This way, you can install the application on a new device and enable two-factor authentication again.
If you need our support with authentication, please let us know. :)
