How to request a Takedown for an Incident

Updated over 2 months ago

Takedown refers to an action taken to remove content that is violating rules, by sending notifications to the content owners who pose a digital risk. This request is personalized to clearly explain the type of violation involved and requires the agreement of these providers for the content to be successfully removed.

For more information on Takedown, please refer to the article “What is a Takedown?”.

When to request a Takedown?

From piracy to unauthorized sales, from phishing to malware, there are numerous digital risks capable of harming and causing severe damage to your company's profitability, reputation, and privacy policy.

You can request a Takedown when you want the infringing content to be removed from the web, to reduce the reach of the fraud and eliminate it from the internet.

How to request an incident takedown?

When identifying an infringement that you want to request a takedown for, go to the corresponding ticket and click on Takedown.

All actions and notifications made are recorded in the ticket itself, and you can track them through the Axur platform, in the tracking bar, and also in the Events History.

After removing the incident from the web, our threat monitoring systems can detect the same URL again. For Reup cases, tickets with reactive takedown requests within 15 days from Resolved, the ticket is reopened, and the new takedown request is not charged. After this period, if the incident becomes active again, you can request a new takedown, but it will be charged again from your package.

If there is still no detection on the Axur platform, it is necessary to open a ticket to proceed with the Takedown process. Please refer to the article Manual ticket addition for additional information.

Priority Takedown

Some incidents may require special attention due to their severity, and in light of this, if you notice that any incident for which a Takedown has been requested needs closer monitoring, please contact us through one of our support channels. Select the option “Talk to a person” and send us an explanation of why you requested the removal and how this incident is impacting your brand/company.

We would like to remind you that requesting a Priority Takedown does not guarantee content removal, and we also cannot set a deadline for removal.

The Takedown process depends on the agreement and action of the entities responsible for the content to be successfully removed.

The average time for similar cases can be found in the ticket header, as shown in the example below
